Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what information VanlyFacture (“we”, “us”, “our”, “I”, “me”, “mine”) collects when you use this website and our electricity planner tools, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here conflicts with mandatory local law, the law that applies to you prevails.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us

  • Email address and product interest. If you use a “notify me” or similar signup form in the planner, we collect your email address so we can contact you about updates or related features you asked to hear about.
  • Planner context (optional). With that signup, we may store a small amount of technical context related to your session—for example, estimated daily energy (Wh/day) or sizing values you were viewing—so we understand which part of the planner you used. This is not required to use the calculators themselves.
  • Anonymous feedback (optional). If you send feedback through the planner, we store the message, technical context such as the planner page or step, and a timestamp. This is voluntary and does not require an email address or account. We do not use it to identify you unless you include identifying information in your message.
  • Communications. If you contact us (for example via our Contact page), we process the contents of your message and your contact details to respond.

1.2 Information stored only on your device

The electricity planner saves your device list, usage choices, and related calculator inputs in your browser’s local storage so your work can persist between visits. This data stays on your device unless you clear site data in your browser. We do not use it to identify you on our servers by default.

We also store your theme preference (light or dark mode) locally so the site can display correctly when you return.

1.3 Information collected automatically

Like most websites, when you load pages or call our APIs our hosting and infrastructure may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, approximate region derived from the request, timestamps, and URLs requested. We use this to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service, and to detect abuse.

1.4 Cookies and similar technologies

We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural analytics cookies to track you across other websites. We may rely on strictly necessary mechanisms our host or framework needs to deliver pages securely (for example session or security-related cookies), depending on how you access the site.

As described in section 1.2, we use browser local storage for planner data and your theme preference. You can clear that data anytime through your browser settings.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Provide the website and electricity planner (including saving your preferences locally);
  • Send messages you have opted into (for example, waitlist or product updates);
  • Review optional anonymous feedback to improve the planner and website;
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party behavioural advertising on this site as described in this policy.

Where applicable privacy law requires a “legal basis”, we rely on:

  • Consent, when you submit your email for notifications or similar optional signups;
  • Performance of a contract or steps you request before a contract, when we need your information to provide a feature you have asked for; and
  • Legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable website (for example, short-term logs, abuse prevention, and improving the service), balanced against your rights.

You may withdraw consent where we rely on it, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed:

  • Service providers. We use trusted vendors to host the site and store waitlist data and optional anonymous feedback. In particular, planner email signups and feedback are stored using Supabase (database hosting). Those providers process data on our instructions and must protect it appropriately.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

5. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than where you live, including the United States and the European Economic Area, depending on their infrastructure. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses approved by regulators) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

6. Retention

We keep email signups and related records only as long as needed for the purposes described above—typically until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for legal, security, or operational reasons.

We keep anonymous feedback and its technical context only as long as needed to review and improve the planner or website, or for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Server logs are kept for a limited period consistent with security and troubleshooting needs, then deleted or aggregated.

Data in your browser’s local storage remains until you clear it or we change storage keys in a way that replaces it.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords where relevant and to keep your devices updated.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Port your data in a machine-readable format, where applicable;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent; and
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us via our Contact page. We may need to verify your request. If you subscribed to emails, you can also use any unsubscribe link we provide in those messages when available.

9. U.S. state privacy notices (including California)

If you are a resident of certain U.S. states, you may have additional rights regarding personal information, such as requesting access or deletion, and opting out of “sale” or certain sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To submit a request, use our Contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

10. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Third-party sites

Our site may link to other websites. This policy does not apply there. Please read their privacy policies before providing information to them.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes affecting signups or similar processing, we may provide additional notice (for example, by email where we have your address).

13. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, please use the details on our Contact page. If you operate as a business and need a formal data processing addendum, mention that in your message.
